Support Team SRLA and become "part of something great!"

That's how Christine, a student at Torres HS, described her experience at the 2016 SRLA Kick-off 5K.

SRLA is up and running for its 28th season. SRLA offers a free marathon-training program, mentoring at-risk youth in Greater Los Angeles. More than 3,250 middle and high school students train alongside 500 volunteer teachers to complete the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon. Annually, more than 95% of SRLA students who attempt the Marathon finish it, and more than 95% of SRLA seniors who finish the Marathon graduate from high school with plans to attend college.

It costs $350 per student to provide this life-changing program:

As students, themselves, report, SRLA is so much more than a running program -- it is a life-changing experience that creates a supportive community and empowers students to expect more from themselves by learning how to set and achieve goals in life. Here's just what a few have to say:

  • Blanca at Panorama High School: Some people run for speed, but I run because it's a constant reminder that everything in life is step by step. Time doesn't matter; crossing the finish line matters.
  • Jesus at Camino Nuevo High School: SRLA has definitely changed my life, and being around such positive and ambitious people motivates me.
  • Eben at Bell High School: Now, whenever I face a challenge, I say to myself, "Hey, I finished a marathon. I can finish this."
You can keep SRLA running. Your support of Team SRLA makes the SRLA program possible and allows our students to be "part of something great!"
